Stephen W Tayler started working on multichannel projects in 2003. The first projects were 5.1 mixes of filmed live shows for VHS and DVD. For several years he developed multichannel audio for experimental sound installations that used unique configurations to suit the particular spaces. In addition to his continuing production and mixing for new music projects Stephen has specialised since 2018 in creating new mixes in both stereo and surround for deluxe box set reissues of classic albums. There are many more surround projects currently being developed and Stephen has recently begun to incorporate Dolby Atmos mixing into his workflow. News soon!! |

December 2019 Stephen premiered his new project 'Da Capo' as a live event for an audience in The Big Room at Real World Studios on Saturday December 14th 2019 'Da Capo' is an audio visual musical suite based on the concept of time. Stephen created the music, soundscapes and visuals for the show, playing all the instruments, controlling and manipulating the audio in full surround sound along with projections. 'Da Capo' is destined for release as a CD/DVD set. The DVD will contain the original visuals with 5.1 mix, including extra features recorded and filmed at the live show.

'Ostinato - LIVE' | Stephen W Tayler Stephen presented his first ever solo live performance at Pound Arts, Corsham, Wiltshire on July 22nd 2017 featuring music from Stephen's 2015 album 'Ostinato' accompanied by atmospheric visual projections. Stephen combined soundscapes, elements of playback and live sound manipulation along with multiple keyboards, woodwind instruments, electronics and guitar. The music was presented through the groundbreaking prototype Zero speaker system provided by Flare Audio, with the atmospheric sounds through the theatre's cinema surround sound system. An app dedicated to the show was developed to be used during the show, with images and text being sent to the devices in the audience. The app was developed by Simon Fletcher of Spacestream.com. |
